Please note : Only Datacentre hosted clients are affected, AWS and Azure clients are unaffected by this maintenance.
DCL will be conducting two phases of work during this period. The first is to upgrade the connectivity between our datacentres and improve resilience further, the second is a series of disaster recovery tests ensuring that our systems fail and auto-recover in the way we expect them to.
The first set of work is expected to take place between 0000 and 0030. We will be installing a third backup inter datacentre comms line routed across different networks to our existing diversely routed lines, to improve resilience and speed. During this 30 minute window, connectivity to and from client machines will be affected and several periods of website downtime are to be expected as the network re-routes to include the third line and we perform final testing.
The second set of work is our Disaster Recovery Tests which are critical to ensure that the systems are as resilient as they should be and that failovers occur as expected within our infrastructure. During this phase no downtime is expected but there may be few second blips in connectivity as services re-route around the planned failed components like switches and SANs.
